Vikram Kumar takes charge as new Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation

Pune, July 12, 2020: Vikram Kumar today assumed the charge of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) from outgoing Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad. Kumar was earlier the Metropolitan Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). Gaikwad has been posted as state Sugar Commissioner.
Vikram Kumar (43) from Haryana is a 2004 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre. He has earlier worked as CEO of Maharashtra Maritime Board, Mumbai and joint CEO of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). He has also served District Collector of Aurangabad and Sindhudurg districts as well as CEO of Washim Zilla Parishad (ZP). He was the Municipal Commissioner of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation from July 2011 to January 2013.
Gaikwad was posted as Pune Municipal Commissioner in January this year from Sugar Commissionerate, Pune. He has been again posted as Sugar Commissioner.
