Pune, December 1, 2015: The first-of-its-kind concept of visual poetry was launched today at a curtain raiser media preview. Harshvardhan Sukhatme, is the man who has pioneered this unique concept of Visual Poetry, which is poetry that is not simply read, but portrayed in the form of a film.

Present at the conference were Aziz Rajabali, A Partner of The Living bridge along with actorsKetaki Narayan, Aashay Kulkarni and Ankur Divekar who are the lead protagonists for the visual poems, “Woman Divine “and “Life on the road” and the director Ranjan Mangwaani. These visual poems have been written by Harshvardhan himself and are available for viewing on Vimeo.com

Visual Poetry is a fantastic amalgamation of two great arts- poetry and film. While, interpretations can vary from person to person, a line in the poem that makes one think of loveliness, may instead disturb someone else, however, when set to film, they acquire an entirely new dimension!

Harshvardhan Sukhatme is an avid fan of the Beatles who were themselves prolific song-writers and legends. He expressed, “Poetry to my mind is something to be lived, cherished and felt to be appreciated for the magnificent expression that it is. Even as I hope for my collection of poems to reach out to as many people as possible, I believe the one way to do it is to make it come alive. And what medium could be finer than film? Hence, this small offering of “Visual Poems”–that is poetry written by me at different points in time in my life–enhanced by visuals and music best depicted by cinema.”

In this adventure, he credits The Living Bridge—A training institute that believes in pushing the envelope, and probing what’s beyond the obvious, for their support in turning this concept into reality.

The future, undoubtedly, belongs to those who mix media and vivid colours of expression to form a palette of their own.Visual Poems is a small but sure step in the direction of creativity unshackled.
