Wagholi, 26th November 2025: The Pune unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a police constable from Wagholi Police Station (Pune City Police) after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe from a woman complainant. The trap was executed on 25 November 2025 following a formal complaint.

Officials said the 33-year-old complainant had submitted a court-issued recovery warrant at Wagholi Police Station to collect ₹6.65 lakh in pending alimony from her husband. She alleged that Constable Parmeshwar Manik Makhare (37) demanded ₹5,000 to proceed with action on the warrant and threatened to delay the process if the money was not paid.

After verifying the complaint on 24 November, ACB officers organized a trap the next afternoon near a tea stall on Ahilyanagar Road, opposite the police station. The accused constable allegedly accepted the bribe amount at 12:09 pm, following which he was immediately detained in the presence of panch witnesses.

A case is being registered under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
