Pune, 16th February 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have registered a case of negligence against a prominent builder and the director of a parking system company after a three-year-old girl fell into a 15-foot deep open pit at a residential society on Pink City Road.

The incident occurred on February 14, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM at the Aswani Galaxy Society. The complaint was formally lodged on February 15 by the child’s mother.

According to the FIR registered by Wakad police station, the victim, identified as Shrija Anil Sangale (aged 3 years and 9 months), was playing with other children in the garden area near the ‘F-Wing’ of the society.

The complaint states that a deep pit, dug for a multilevel parking system, was left adjacent to the play area without any safety precautions. Due to the absence of a protective retaining wall or a safety net, the toddler accidentally fell into the half-constructed, 15-foot deep pit.

The child sustained injuries to her head, back, and other parts of her body.

Based on the mother’s complaint, the police have booked Jagannath Raut, Director of King Multilevel Car Parking System Pvt. Ltd., and the builder associated with Aswani Paradise Company. They have been charged with negligence for failing to secure the construction site, thereby endangering the lives of residents.

The police investigation is currently underway.
