Wanawadi: After increase in COVID-19 cases, again restrictions imposed on movement

Pune, June 20, 2020: As the COVID-19 cases have increased in Wanawadi, barricades have been put on Samvidhan chowk, Ganga Satellite Bridge, Shinde Chhatri and Salunke Vihar road as a precautionary measure to reduce the movement. However, the shops’ timings will remain same as per the prior instruction.

“The cases have been increased in the last few days in Wanawadi area as new cases were reported near Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri. Therefore, after discussion with senior police officials and local members, the roads were blocked as a precaution to control the infection by restricting the movement. However, there is no separate instruction for shop timings as it will be functional as per the earlier instructions,” said Kunjan Jadhav, Ward Officer, Wanawadi Ramtekdi Ward.

He also informed that there are a total number of 120 cases reported in Wanawadi, out of which 80 of them were discharged and 40 active cases. Jadhav said, “One death has been reported on Saturday morning, however, we are yet to receive the details.”

Jadhav informed that total active cases in the Wanawadi-Ramtekdi Ward Office which include of Prabhag-24 (Ramtekdi-Sayyadnagar), Prabhag-25 (Wanawadi) and Prabhag -27 (Kondhwa Khurd-Meetha Nagar) is 250. Till now 444 people have been discharged from hospitals while 39 have died due to Coronavirus.
