Pune, February 20, 2023: Young BJP MP Tejasvi Surya highlighted the enormous work done by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in the past eight years, saying its hallmark has been that the macro-economic fundamentals are strong and expressed optimism that the current generation will see India become a Super Power. Speaking on a range of topics, 32-year-old Tejasvi Surya, who is the President of BJP Yuva Morcha, interacted with industry representatives from the city of Pune during a special session organised at J W Marriott on Sunday.

“The macro-economic fundamentals are strong and this has been the hallmark of the Modi style of governance in the last eight years. Also, the government has maintained fiscal prudence, of which the entire world has taken a note of. Thus, I’m very optimistic and positive that the next 25 years will be incredible for our country and we will see India becoming a Super Power in our generation,” said Surya, Lok Sabha member representing Bengaluru South.

According to Tejasvi Surya, the per capita income has doubled from 2014-2023 and it was a huge thing. “We are also lifting the highest number of people out of poverty anywhere in the world. The government is also very keen to listen to people and make policy changes. There is positive growth, the overall picture is healthy and there is great optimism in coming years,” Tejasvi Surya elaborated.

He also said that another cultural change which has happened is that people and state governments have realised the importance of private investments and that the Centre is playing the role of a facilitator.

“In 2011-2012, no state government would organise an Investor Summit. But today, state governments of even states like Punjab, Chattisgarh, West Bengal and Kerala are organising Investor Summits. This is the biggest thing that has happened,” Surya said.

“The government is also building a University per week. In the medical education sector, we (the BJP government) have created more medical seats in the last eight years than the previous 70 years. Also, 70 airports were created in 70 years, now 70 airports have been created in 8 years. There has been a focus on creating infrastructure. Terms like Start Ups, Ease of Doing Business, did not even exist but now have vocabulary,” Surya said.

Surya also stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have set a benchmark with regard to hard work and that the culture of hard-work has been now imbibed among the BJP cadre. Soumendu Kuber gave the introductory remarks and also proposed the vote of thanks.
