New Delhi, 15th September 2022: WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called ‘Who can see when I am’. This new feature will enable users to keep their online status hidden while using the app.

The users will get this option in the Last seen and online option given in the privacy section of WhatsApp settings.

WABetaInfo, a website that tracks the latest updates of WhatsApp, has also shared a screenshot of this new feature.

It can be seen in the screenshot that users can change the setting of their online status by going to the last seen and online option.

In ‘Last Seen’, users will get four options – ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’, ‘My Contact Except’ and ‘Nobody’ to hide their last seen. At the same time, for online status, the company is giving the option of ‘Everyone’ and ‘Same as last seen’. By selecting the option in ‘Who can see my last seen except My contacts’, you can decide who gets information about your being online and who is not.

WhatsApp is currently offering this feature to select beta testers in beta version 2.22.20.9 of WhatsApp Android.

According to WABetaInfo, some beta testers may also get this feature in the 2.22.20.7 beta build.

It is expected that the company will roll out a stable version of this feature for global users after successful beta testing. Currently, no information has been given by the company about the official rollout date of the feature.
