Washington, 21st February 2025: Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel, a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, has been confirmed as the first Indian-origin Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The Republican-controlled Senate approved his nomination in a narrow 51-49 vote on Thursday.

Following the confirmation, Dan Scavino, White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Assistant to the President, welcomed Patel in a unique Bollywood style. Scavino shared a dance clip on X featuring the song Malhari from the Bollywood film Bajirao Mastani. In the video, Patel’s face was superimposed onto actor Ranveer Singh, who originally performed the song.

The song’s lyrics, which translate to “Let’s play the song of happiness…We have crushed our enemies,” added a dramatic touch to the celebration. Scavino captioned the post, “Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, @Kash_Patel.”

The 47-second clip quickly went viral, garnering over four million views and 126,000 likes, drawing widespread reactions across social media.
