Wicked OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Oscar-Nominated Musical Online
Mumbai, 7th March 2025: The highly anticipated musical fantasy film “Wicked,” which garnered 10 Oscar nominations at the 97th Academy Awards, is set to make its digital debut on streaming platforms. Fans of the magical Oz drama can soon enjoy the film from the comfort of their homes.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, “Wicked” features an all-star cast including Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Jeff Goldblum. The film, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel and the Broadway musical, tells the story of two witches in the Land of Oz before Dorothy’s arrival.
Indian audiences can stream “Wicked” on JioHotstar starting March 22, 2025, as part of the platform’s Peacock Hub. The film will be available alongside other Oscar winners, including “Anora,” which bagged five Academy Awards including Best Picture.
For viewers outside India, “Wicked” will be available on Peacock from March 21, 2025. In the UK, the film is set to release digitally on January 3, 2025, via Prime Video and iTunes, with pre-order options already available.
“Wicked” has been a box office success, earning close to $730 million globally since its theatrical release on November 22, 2024. The film won two Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
A sequel titled “Wicked: For Good,” covering the musical’s second act, is scheduled for theatrical release on November 21, 2025.
