Wildcard State player Kurale leads five Indians into round two at 25K MSLTA Mumbai Open Tennis Championships

Mumbai, November 16: Wildcard And Kolhapur boy Sandesh Kurale made the best of the opportunity registering a 6-3,6-4 win over qualifier Rishi Reddy and entering the second round of the main draw at the 25K MSLTA Mumbai Open Tennis Championships being organised by MSLTA and played on their tennis courts at the GA Ranade Tennis Center

 

Kurale a former Junior National Champion and member of the MSLTA Vision Program played solidly to end the run of Rishi Reddy who came through 3 rounds of qualifying, Kurale who started tennis on his farm in Hathkalangle in Kolhapur district also picked up his first ever ATP point making it to the round of sixteen

 

Indians Siddarth Rawat ,Niki Ponnacha ,Siddarth Vishwakarma , Bharath Kumaran and qualifier Qamar Faisal also made it to the second round in contrasting wins

 

In the lone upset of the day Japanese Kazuki Nishiwaki rallied past fifth seeded Manish Sureshkumar 7-6(3),6-2 to make the last sixteen
