Pune, 21st October 2021: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik today targeted Sameer Wankhede, Mumbai zonal head of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), saying he wanted to know what Wankhede was doing with his family in Dubai and Maldives Coronavirus disease (COVID19). He also threatened to send Wankhede to jail.

Responding to this, Wankhede said, “My best wishes are with him. I am a junior government official. They are big ministers. If they want to put me in jail for removing drugs, I welcome him.”

Describing Wankhede as a ‘puppet’ of BJP, Malik said that he would lose his job within a year.

Addressing party workers in Maval taluka of Pune district, Malik said, “They have Wankhede puppet. He files fake cases against people. I challenge Sameer Wankhede from this platform that his job will be lost within a year. He will be behind bars. The people of this country will not remain silent without seeing you behind bars. Wankhede is indulging in bogus activities and we have evidence to prove it. He will not be able to continue his job once the evidence comes to light.”

Reacting to Malik’s statement, Wankhede said, “No matter what time he is telling, I have never been to Dubai. There are mechanisms to check where a person is. This is a complete lie. I never went to Dubai with my sister. This is false and completely reprehensible.”

On the photo shared by Malik, Wankhede said, “These are photos of Mumbai. I was in Mumbai. Truth does not ignite anything. Find out where I was, get data from the airport. Get everything verified through my passport and visa.”

Wankhede further said, “We have been facing personal attacks in the last 15 days. My dead mother, sister and retired father are being attacked. I strongly condemn it. I am a Central Government employee, so I have to get proper permission from my superiors and after that, I will take legal action. My morale will not go down. It will be even stronger. I will do even better.”
