With 63 new cases, Coronavirus Positive cases reach 437 in Pune district

Pune, April 15, 2020: According to the District Health Office (DHO) in the last 24 hours (7 pm April 14 to 7 pm April 15), there has been an increase of 63 new cases of Coronavirus Positive in Pune district.

Out of 437, a total of 369 are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) while 42 are from Pimpri-Chinchwad areas, and 18 are from Pune rural areas, while 7 are from Pune cantonment and one from Khadki cantonment. A total of four persons died during treatment in Pune today.

Till now, a total of 41 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 39 have succumbed to the deadly virus. Many areas have been sealed as per containment plan to stop the spread of Coronavirus. A total of 232 new Covid-19 cases were reported today in the state taking the Maharashtra tally to 2916

Deaths: There were 9 Covid-related deaths in the state today. Out of these, 2 deaths were recorded in Mumbai, 6 in Pune and 1 in Akola Municipal Corporation. III. Other details of deaths: Out of the 9 deaths today, 6 were men and 3 women. 4 of them aged over 60 years, 3 were from the age group 40 to 60 years and 2 were under 40 years of age. 6 out of these 9 patients (67%) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and heart disease. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 187 in the state.

Lab testing details: Out of 52,000 laboratory samples, 48,198 were negative and 2916 have been tested positive for coronavirus until today.

Containment Plan: As per the guidance from Government of India, cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state. Total 5394 surveillance squads were working today across the state and surveillance of over 20 lakh population was done.

Cluster containment plan is being implemented in RF colony in Aurangabad where there was a Covid-related death two days back. The cluster containment plan is also being implemented in Jalal Nagar, the area where this patient’s contacts were found positive. House-to-house surveillance of a population of 5000 in this area is being done on a regular basis. There are 11 containment zones in Aurangabad and 103 surveillance squads are covering a population of over 28000.

Other important notes: 1. 295 patients have been discharged till date after full recovery. 2. Currently, 69,738 people are in home quarantine and 5,617 people are in institutional quarantine.
