West Side county members pool in money to pay hardship allowance to housekeeping staffs, security guards

Pune, April 15, 2020: West Side County is a gated society with 423 flats in Pimple Gurav, Pune. The members of the society have contributed to the social cause in the past. So far, members of the society have contributed in cash and kind support during Wari, Flood Response in Sangali, Contribution to aspiring sportsman in rural area to buy professional kit, contribution to NGOs and have undertaken number of other small initiatives.

During Covid19 outbreak, the members of the society are strictly following safe distancing practice and have been coordinating supply of vegetable and fruits directly from farmer producer companies from Indapur and Chakan. This is benefitting several farmers directly during this difficult time when marketing of agriculture produce has become a serious challenge.

Now the members of the society have come together to pay the hardship allowance to the house keeping staff and security personnel in addition to their regular pay. This will benefit around 30 families of these workers who are taking risk to serve the society.

West Side county members feel that other societies in Pune should come forward and contribute to the security personnel and housekeeping staff hardship allowance as recognition to their contribution. While there is a lot of talk about the way Coronavirus is affecting people, concrete action in the lines of the members of west side county will bring some joy to the real heroes who are active when majority of the population is staying safe in their homes.
