With 8 new patients, Coronavirus Positive cases reach 43 in Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri, April 14, 2020: In the last 24 hours, eight new Coronavirus Positive patients have been detected in Pimpri-Chinchwad and with this, the total number of COVID19 patients has reached 43 now. One of them has died while 12 others have been cured. One patient is from Khadki who is undergoing treatment at YCM hospital.

Among the eight new cases, two men were found positive in the day and one of them is the contact of Delhi Nizamuddin return Tablighi Jamaat member, while the other has no travel history. At 9 pm, reports of three males and three females were received by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

The PCMC administration has already sealed areas of Dapodi and Kasarwadi as many positive patients have been detected there. Nobody will be allowed to move out or enter these areas. All residents have been ordered to wear a mask. PCMC has already sealed parts of Thergaon, Kharalwadi, Chikhali and Dighi.

PCMC Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar said that Corona infection has created a health emergency in the city. Considering the number of affected patients in the city, it is necessary to limit the movement of citizens in some areas.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) had issued the order to close all vegetable market in the city till April 14, 2020. However, temporary stalls will be set up following social distancing in the open space near present Bhaji Mandi in different areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad. The sale of vegetables will be started from 11 am to 4 pm only after the place is fixed. An amended order was issued today.

All field officers were ordered to inspect the vacant spots in their jurisdiction immediately for starting the vegetable sale. Therefore, the sale of vegetables cannot be started at the present Bhaji Mandi. Also, vegetable, fruit sale on the cart is not allowed.
