Woman From Pune Dies After Falling Off Tourist Point While Taking Selfie At Mahabaleshwar
Pune 11th Oct 2023: In a tragic incident reported at one of the tourist points in Mahabaleshwar, a 23-year-old woman died after she fell around 300 meter down in a ravine while taking a selfie. The incident was reported at Kate’s point, a hill station in Mahabaleshwar on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased woman identified as Ankita Shiraskar (23) had gone to Mahabaleshwar with her husband Sunil on Monday. After visiting some tourist points on Monday they were visiting Kate’s point on Tuesday when the incident took place. According to police, there was nobody around at the incident site at the time of incident and the deceased woman’s husband only narrated the whole tragedy.
The local police and trekkers were immediately rushed to the spot soon after receiving the emergency call. After conducting a long rescue operation, the woman’s body was retrieved in the evening. The Panchgani Police have registered an accidental death reporte based on primary information provided by the victim’s husband and further investigation in the matter is underway.
