Woman Narrowly Escapes Accident at Pune Railway Station After Slipping While Boarding Train
Pune, 4th July 2026: A woman passenger narrowly escaped a serious accident at Pune Railway Station after she slipped while attempting to board the moving 11014 Coimbatore–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express on Saturday morning. She was rescued by an on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable.
The incident took place at around 10:38 am on Platform No. 3, when the train had started moving. According to railway officials, the woman tried to board the train after it began departing but lost her balance, slipped from the footboard and fell towards the gap between the platform and the moving train.
Head Constable Jitendra Mahajan of the Railway Protection Force, Pune, who was deployed on the platform, immediately rushed to the spot and pulled the passenger away from the platform-train gap, preventing her from being dragged under the moving train.
After the rescue, the passenger was shifted to a safe location on the platform, where she was provided necessary assistance.
The incident occurred during the departure of Train No. 11014 Coimbatore–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, one of the regular long-distance services passing through Pune Railway Station.
The rescue was carried out as part of the Railway Protection Force’s Operation Jeevan Raksha, an initiative under which RPF personnel respond to emergencies involving passengers at railway stations.
