Women Power the Wheels: Tata Harrier and Tata Safari SUVs Manufactured Exclusively by an All-Female Workforce

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 14th June 2023: In a groundbreaking move for the automotive industry, the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari SUVs are exclusively manufactured by a workforce comprising entirely of women. With a team of over 1700 women at the Tata Motors plant located in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, these remarkable individuals have been instrumental in the production of these vehicles.

The Trim, Chassis, and Final-2 (TCF-2) assembly line at the Tata Motors facility in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune stands out as a truly unique endeavor. The team of approximately 1700 women working here not only ensures the smooth functioning of the assembly line but also exhibits unparalleled efficiency, determination, and a strong sense of camaraderie.

Over the past three years, Tata Motors has strategically recruited these talented women from various regions in Maharashtra. Their contributions have played a pivotal role in more than doubling the annual production figures of the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari PV models, skyrocketing from 1.5 lakh units in 2020 to over 5 lakh units in 2022.
