Efforts to persuade Eknath Shinde, a rebel Shiv Sena leader in Maharashtra, seem to be failing. Shinde has given a blunt answer to Uddhav Thackeray’s envoy who came to meet him at a hotel in Surat, Gujarat. He has made it clear that his return to Shiv Sena, which has given up Hindutva, is not possible now. Significantly, after Eknath Shinde’s rebellious stand, the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition government in Maharashtra has come into trouble.

Pictures have surfaced of Milind Narvekar and Ravi Pathak leaving the Le Meridien Hotel in Surat from Gujarat.
