World Tourism Day: Maharashtra Tourism Department Plans Many Activities In Pune, Satara, Solapur, And Kolhapur

Pune, 23rd September 2021: On the occasion of World Tourism Day, various programs have been organized in Pune, Satara, Solapur, and Kolhapur districts by the Directorate of Tourism, informed by Supriya Karmarkar, Assistant Director, Directorate of Tourism in a press note.

 

September 27 is celebrated as World Tourism Day. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), an international tourism organization, publishes a slogan every year on the occasion of World Tourism Day. This year, the slogan for World Tourism Day is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”.

 

Pune

-Pune Heritage Walk: The Divisional Office of the Directorate of Tourism, Pune and the Tourism Forum of Maharashtra have jointly organized a Heritage Walk at Shaniwarwada-Lal Mahal- Prarthana Samaj Mandir-Mahatma Phule Mandai.

 

-Online webinar has been organized on 26th in association with D. Y Patil College of Hotel Management.

 

-A webinar has been organized on 28th in association with Telang College of Hotel Management.

 

Satara

The Directorate of Tourism and Tour Operators Association, Satara has jointly organized a one-day trip to Kas Plateau and Vajrai Falls for the elderly at Matoshri Old Age Home in Mahagaon. Also, all these tours and travels from Satara, Karad, Panchgani, and Shirwal in TAAS Travel Association of Satara will jointly celebrate World Tourism Day.

 

Kolhapur

Various activities have been organized by Kolhapur Collectorate.

Karveer Residents Re-Establishment Day Anniversary Ceremony, Destination Kolhapur Logo will be Unveiled, along with District Tourism Website, District Tourism Map, Essay Competition, Painting Competition, Photography Competition, Videography Competition will be Unveiled. Kolhapur Festival Schedule will be Published. Online Lectures on Tourism Development, Bike, Fort trekking, jungle trekking, village trekking, water tourism, agri-tourism, and adventure tourism programs, sanitation campaign, the video will be released by Heritage Committee, handicraft demonstration, off-road rally. Activities like the Heritage walk will also be organized.

 

Solapur

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, a Nature Walk has been organized for the office bearers of trade associations in Solapur at Siddheshwar Vanvihar in the Bijapur Road area on Monday (September 27) at 7.30 am. The initiative is organized by the Eco-Friendly Club, which strives to promote nature tourism, under the guidance of the Directorate of Tourism. The Siddheshwar Forest Reserve under the Solapur Forest Department is rich in biodiversity. Siddheshwar Vanvihar near Solapur city is a great place for nature tourism. On the occasion of Tourism Day, the office bearers of trade associations in Solapur will be informed about Siddheshwar Vanvihar.
