Yashasvi-Gill Pair Propels India to Commanding Lead of 322 Runs in 3rd Test Against England

Pune, 17th February 2024: In the ongoing 3rd Test match between India and England in Rajkot, the third day witnessed a dominant performance from the Indian team. India posted a formidable total of 196 runs for the loss of two wickets in their second innings at the end of day three.

Shubman Gill remained steadfast with an impressive 65 not out, supported by Kuldeep Yadav at 3 not out. However, India faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Rohit Sharma (19) and Rajat Patidar (0). Yashasvi Jaiswal, exhibiting remarkable form, secured his third Test century before retiring hurt at 104 due to a back injury.

Earlier, England concluded their first innings at 319 runs, granting India a substantial lead of 126 runs. In response, India strengthened their grip on the match, amassing 196 runs in the second innings, thereby extending their lead to a commanding 322 runs.

With this Steller performance on day 3, india is in drivers seat to go up in series 2-1 at the end of third test match at Rajkot.
