Yerwada police arrest man with pistols

Pune, 2019: On 24h February 2019 Police head constable Manjulkar received a secret information that near Fulenagar RTO office one man will come in red car to sell pistol. This information was trustworthy so Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Kadam, in-charge of Yerwada police station, informed about the same to Deputy Police Commissioner (Zone 4) Prasd Akkanavaru and ACP Dr. Shivaji Pawar.

With their guidance Police sub inspector Ravindra Gawari, ASI Bahirat, head constables Manjulkar, Jadhav, police naik Randive, Constables Patil and Sakat, laid a trap and arrested accused Mahesh Shrihari Garute (27) of Bakori village in Haveli taluka of Pune district. He was caught around 9.15 pm on February 24. He has another case with Lonikand police station.

Police seized two country-made pistols, five live bullets, 1 Koyta and 1 Maruti Swift Car, totally worth Rs 7.06 lakhs, from accused’s possession. An FIR was registered at Yerawda Police station against the accused for offences under relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.

 The accused have already been arrested before for another crime.
