Yerwada: Robbers Attack Youth Who Was Returning From Workplace; Survives With Grievous Injuries

Pune, December 24, 2020: A 21-year-old youth who was returning to his hostel after work was attacked by robbers near Commerzone IT Park in Yerwada on Tuesday night. He has sustained multiple injuries. Pune city police have nabbed two out of four robbers till now.

Based on a complaint from injured Krishna Shisode, a native of Parbhani district who resides in a hostel, Yerwada police station has registered an FIR.

According to police, Shisode is a student and also works part-time with a fast-food company’s branch in Vishrantwadi. Around 11.35 pm on December 22, he was walking on the road in front of Hazrat Hussainshaha Baba Dargah towards Jail road. Two youths asked him to lend his phone to make a call. However, he refused following which the duo tried to snatch away the phone. But he freed himself from their clutches and ran towards BARTI office road from Commerzone chowk. Two other robbers on a two-wheeler intercepted him near the Sai temple and assaulted him with a sharp weapon. They looted Rs 700 cash and various documents kept in his wallet. While running Shisode had called his hostel friend who reached the spot with friends. They found Shisode in a pool of blood and rushed him to Sassoon hospital. The four robbers had fled.

After getting treatment, he lodged a complaint on December 23 night. “We have registered FIR for offences under sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 397 (robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Two accused have been nabbed till now”, said DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh.

Police sub-inspector Hanumant Bhosale is further investigating the case.
