Youth Arrested in Pune with Two Country-Made Pistols and Cartridge Worth Rs 1 Lakh

Pune, 23rd October 2025: The Vishrambaug Police have arrested a 20-year-old youth for allegedly possessing two country-made pistols and a live cartridge, collectively valued at around ₹1.02 lakh.
The accused has been identified as Mayur Sachin Bhosale (20), a resident of Papal Vasti, Ganpat Nagar, Bibwewadi, Pune. He was reportedly found in illegal possession of the firearms following a confidential tip-off received by Policemen Ashish Kharat and Anis Sheikh of the Vishrambaug Police Station’s Detection Branch (DB).
Acting on the information, the team detained Bhosale and seized two pistols and one cartridge from his possession. A case has been registered under Sections 3 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act and Sections 37(1) and 37(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act at Vishrambaug Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP (Zone 1) Krushikesh Rawale and ACP Sainath Thombre. The team included Senior Police Inspector Pradeep Kasbe, Police Inspector (Crime) Arun Ghodke, API Rajesh Usgaonkar and police personnel Sachin Kadam, Ganesh Kathe, Shailesh Surve, Sachin Ahivale, Amol Bhasele, Zakir Maniar, Ashish Kharat, Arjun Thorat, Rahul More, Anis Sheikh, Nitin Babar, Sagar More, Shiva Gaikwad, and Rahul Mali.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace the source of the seized weapons and to determine whether the accused has any links with illegal arms dealers.
