Youth Becomes Mobile Thief To Impress His Girlfriend; 26 Mobile Phones Seized After Arrest

Pimpri, January 14, 2021: It has come to light that mobile thieves in Pimpri-Chinchwad have become thieves for their girlfriends. The accused have been handcuffed by the anti-dacoity squad of Pimpri Chinchwad police crime branch.

The accused are Sagar Sawale (22) and Nilesh Bhalerao (19). It has been revealed that the duo stole 26 mobile phones and three two-wheelers for his girlfriend.

According to the police, in the last few days, the culprits were seen snatching mobile phones of pedestrians while talking on a mobile phone while driving a two-wheeler under the flyover at Bhosari. This information was received by the anti-robbery squad. Accordingly, they set a trap under the Bhosari flyover and arrested the accused.

Upon further interrogation of the accused, it came to light that both the accused wanted to commit the crime to please their girlfriends. Both the accused are young and both had a love affair. That is why they have confessed to the police that they were stealing mobile phones to impress their girlfriend.

Both the accused used to exchange new mobiles for their girlfriends every few days. The duo had resorted to criminal means to appease their girlfriends by giving them stolen mobiles. According to the police, the girls did not know that both of them were giving her stolen mobile phones. Police have seized 26 mobile phones and three two-wheelers worth Rs 2.42 lakh from them. A total of nine offenses have been uncovered in the investigation of the two. A team of senior police inspector Uttam Tangade has taken action against the accused.
