Pune, November 12, 2020: With a 74,000 population, the Khadki cantonment board (KCB) is now free from the wrath of Coronavirus (COVID-19). According to KCB, there are currently zero active cases in hospitals under cantonment jurisdiction.

As many as 1,759 COVID patients have been detected in KCB area, with 1,694 patients cured and 66 deaths in the last seven months. “We have been continuously working to provide the best treatment under our jurisdiction”, said Pramod Kumar Singh, Chief Executive officer(CEO), KCB.

He further said, “Our methods during the lockdown were different. We had given relaxation in phases, which has led to the control in the number of cases. During the unlock, we opened only twice, and the after-effects can be seen now.”

When asked about the testing rate, he said, “We have not decreased the testing rate. Rapid Antigen Test are also taken daily to ensure COVID patients. However, we have zero active cases currently in the KCB hospitals.”

Recently PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar had issued a warning about the second wave hitting the city. “We are prepared for the second wave as well. We currently have nine ventilators, and if the second hit strikes we will take the best methods available”, Singh told Punekarnews.in

“This was only possible with the help of local citizens, politicians, and most importantly health workers”, added Singh.
