Mumbai, March 29,2020: Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor yesterday took to social media and demanded opening of liqour shops during the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.

Kapoor tweeted, “State governments desperately need the money from the excise. Frustration should not add up with depression. As it is pee to rahe hain legalize kar do no hypocrisy. My thoughts.”

He further added, “Think. Government should for sometime in the evening open all licensed liquor stores. Don’t get me wrong. Man will be at home only what with all this depression, uncertainty around. Cops, doctors, civilians etc… need some release. Black mein to sell ho hi raha hai.”

Many people supported his demand.

“I completely agree. There has to be some release for people. Alcohol and chocolate elevate a person s mood. Or else everyone will die due to depression”, Kashmera Shah endorsed him.

Kunal Kohli tweeted, “Or open in the mornings. 9am-2pm. The revenue is imp for the states & employees.”

Another person Nitin Godbole said, “back door se दारू बॉटल मिलना चालू है…. anyways.. people have kept stock at home.. today morning i went to bring milk from stores.. one person was asking about soda bottle and then purchased 5.?”

Gautam Gupta suggeated home delivery of liqour to avoid rush at shops. “Open liquor stores with home delivery so that fewer people venture out. We must do away with hypocrisy and be practical”, Gupta said.

Another netizen MK Sinha said, “I agree. Why close down liquor shops? Fix their timings and open.”

And then there are netizens who roasted the actor for demanding liqour at a time when thousands of people are not getting one time food.

“Drunk with frustred mind would be even more dangerous”, stated tweet from handle Shomkal.

Moinak Das pointed, “What about those families, Sir, where ladies face abuse by husbands under the influence of liquor ? And, that’s at the best of times. Do you think that it’s a safe option during a lockdown ?”

Soumya Saxena said, “People need to be alert and in senses as this is not an easy situation.. We are fighting a pandemic!!!!! There’s no party going on that people should buy liquor at this time!!”
