1.18 Lakh Students Of Pune University Awarded Certificates During 120th Convocation Ceremony

Pune, 12th May 2022: Savitribai Phule Pune University is one of the top ten universities in the country in terms of new technologies without abandoning its original culture, said Dr Bhushan Patwardhan.

 

He was speaking at the SPPU’s 120th convocation ceremony which was held today.

 

Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, SPPU Vice Chancellor Dr Nitin Karmalkar were also present on the occasion.

 

At this time the best student 2020-21 and ‘The President of India Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma’ gold medal was awarded to Renuka Singh, a student of Ramkrishna More College of Arts, Commerce and Science. During the ceremony, 75 students were awarded 121 gold medals by the dignitaries.

 

Dr Patwardhan further said that the country cannot develop unless the politics and the power of knowledge go hand in hand. That is why it is very important to balance politics in education. We have a very old history of universities like Nalanda and Takshashila. Today’s education system should be of Gurukul system. This method should be decided with the help of new technology.

 

During the academic year April / May 2021, a total of 1 lakh 18 thousand 222 students have been sent degree certificates by post for their degree, postgraduate, diploma, PhD, and MPhil courses. They include 309 PhD holders.

“Universities with a solid foundation of resources will move forward. The creation of new knowledge every day should be our goal in education for generations to come. At the same time, our cultural roots are equally important. The university coordinated the education industry, introduced new courses to students through Degree Plus, set up a Research Park Foundation for startups, connected to a number of institutions through 130 MoUs, and launched its campuses abroad”, said Dr Nitin Karmalkar, Vice Chancellor, SPPU.
