Pune, 17th October 2025: Industrialist and Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Naveen Jindal, lauded Pune’s entrepreneurial spirit and vibrant energy but strongly criticized the city’s traffic indiscipline after his visit for a Defence Committee meeting.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Jindal wrote, “Pune never fails to impress: beautiful city, great enterprising people and inspiring energy! The Defence Committee meeting was productive, but traffic discipline needs urgent attention. It took 1.3 hours to cover just 20 km to the airport — what a waste of time for every Punekar on the road each day.”

Expressing concern over the city’s chaotic traffic, Jindal highlighted issues such as rash driving, lack of helmet use, rule violations, and excessive honking. He urged the Pune City Traffic Police to take stronger action, stating, “The @PuneCityTraffic must act with passion and purpose, and citizens must cooperate. With better enforcement, use of smart cameras and civic discipline, Pune can truly become a model city for road safety.”

His post has sparked discussion online, with many residents echoing his views about worsening traffic conditions and lack of discipline among motorists. Some users also pointed out that despite Pune’s growing reputation as a tech and education hub, road safety and traffic management continue to be major civic challenges.
