120 kgs Ganja Worth Rs 48 Lakhs Seized By Narcotics Cell Of Pune Customs, 3 Persons Arrested

Pune, 10th February 2024: A specific intelligence was received that huge quantity of Ganja is being transported in train no. 22882 (Bhubaneswar Pune Express) destined to Pune on 08-02-2023.

The suspect persons were supposed to deboard the train at Solapur railway station and accordingly the team of officers from Narcotics Cell, Pune Customs were sent to Solapur railway station to kept surveillance at late night of 08-02-2024.

During surveillance, three suspect persons were identified and apprehended. The detailed search of the luggage of all the three persons were thoroughly checked wherein 120kgs of a substance alleged to be ganja were found. Upon testing with the drug detection testing kit, the substance tested positive for ganja.

The all three persons were apprehended and in their voluntary statement admitted to conscious possession and illegal trafficking of ganja.

Accordingly, the said ganja weighing 120Kgs, having value appx Rs. 48 Lakhs have been seized. The accused persons are arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act,1985 and sent to judicial custody on 09-02-2024.
Further investigation in the matter is under progress.

The main handeller of the gang Kunal Dora resident of Odisha is one of the accused.

The action was taken under the guidance of Yashodhan Wanage, Commissioner and Shweta Nivdange, Deputy Commissioner, Pune Customs.

The team included Amit Patel, Sushant Tyagi, Vinod Kumar, Mahesh Yadav, Piyush, Viraj, Ashish and Vikas.
