1,284 Bottles of Unauthorized Packaged Water Seized at Pune Railway Station
Pune, 19th September 2025: In a special enforcement drive conducted at Pune Railway Station, Pune Division of Central Railway seized 107 boxes containing 1,284 bottles of unauthorized branded packaged drinking water.
The operation was carried out under the direction of the Divisional Railway Manager of Pune, with leadership from the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and supervision by the Assistant Commercial Manager (Goods).
The drive is part of an ongoing initiative to curb the unauthorized sale of packaged drinking water across railway premises. Officials involved in the inspection identified and confiscated non-compliant water bottles being sold without authorization.
Passengers have been advised to avoid purchasing packaged drinking water from unlicensed vendors or hawkers. The railway administration has urged travelers to buy only authorized “Rail Neer” bottles, which are available at official station stalls and licensed counters.
The division stated that such checks will continue to ensure adherence to regulatory norms concerning passenger amenities.
