15 feared dead in explosion factory in Maharashtra’s Dhule district

Pune, August 31, 2019 : Fifteen people are feared to have died and 30 injured in a blast at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Dhule district at 9.45 am on Saturday morning. The incident occurred when several cylinders in the chemical factory burst simultaneously and a rapid explosion occurred. The echo of this blast was heard from two kilometers away. Fire Brigade vehicles reached the spot and they are engaged in busy extinguishing the fire. After the factory explosion, poisonous smoke and gases have spread to the surrounding area, which can further increase people’s problems. After the explosion, the entire area has been hit.

According to the information received, around 100 laborers were working in this factory at the time of the explosion. Immediately after the incident, police and other officials reached there and removed the injured from there to hospital for treatment.

Dhule Superintendent of Police Vishwas Pandhare confirmed that six people were killed and 43 injured in the incident. The condition of many laborers in the injured is being described as very critical.
