274 Tourists to Return to Pune from Jammu and Kashmir by April 29: District Administration

Pune, 24th April 2025: The Pune District Administration has confirmed that 274 tourists stranded in Jammu and Kashmir will be returning to Pune over the next few days. These citizens had reached out to the District Disaster Control Room following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that shook the country.

According to an official press release, 657 tourists from Pune district had contacted the control room. Among them, 274 have confirmed return plans between April 24 and April 29 via various modes of transport including air, rail, and private vehicles.

“Today, 11 passengers have arrived in Pune by air. We are coordinating their safe return and are in constant touch with all the tourists through the control room,” the district administration said.

The breakdown of the expected arrivals is as follows:

  • 24 April: 41 passengers will arrive by air.
  • 25 April: 65 by air and 19 by rail.
  • 26 April: 18 by air and 34 by rail.
  • 27 April: 38 by rail and 41 by private car.
  • 29 April: 7 by air.

The administration assured that efforts to track and facilitate the safe return of all tourists are ongoing. “We have begun the process of collecting detailed information and coordinating their travel. Our control room remains in active contact with the affected tourists and their families,” the release added.

Officials also emphasized that the district machinery is working round the clock to ensure a smooth and safe return for all affected residents.
