283 Water Supply Schemes In Pune Division Completed Under Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme

Pune, 15th April 2023: About 283 water supply schemes have been completed during the financial year 2022-23 under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural) Scheme. The scheme was carried out in the rural areas of five districts namely Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur in Pune Division by the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP).
More than Rs 2,500 crores have been spent for the same. A maximum of 168 schemes have been implemented in the Pune district. 15 schemes have been implemented in Kolhapur. Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme is still going on in some parts of the Pune Division.
Water supply schemes such as a revival of new and old schemes are being implemented under the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ campaign of Jal Jeevan Mission in the rural areas of the division by MJP. Under this campaign, the aim is to deliver water to every home, for this, new water supply schemes, a revival of old water supply schemes, capacity building, or repairs are being accomplished on priority.
Accordingly, the mandated works are being completed with speed along with the submission of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of these works, and implementation of the tender process by giving administrative and technical approval.
Rajendra Rahane, Chief Engineer of MJP said, “Also, the engineers of the rural water supply scheme under Zilla Parishad must make serious efforts to speed up these works and complete them. For this, emphasis is being placed on completing this plan in collaboration with MJP.”
Works completed in the financial year 2022-23 in Pune Division are as follows:
