Fatal Accident On Old Pune-Mumbai Highway; 12 People Dead After Private Bus Fell Into Valley
Pune, 15th April 2023: A private bus met with a terrible accident on the old Pune-Mumbai highway. Preliminary information is that 12 people have died and more than 25 people have been injured in this accident.
According to information received, a private bus fell into a ravine on the old Pune-Mumbai highway around 4.00 am near Shingroba temple in Borghat. This bus was coming from Pune towards Mumbai. The injured passengers have been admitted to Khopoli Municipal Hospital.
There were six girls and 40 boys on this bus. On the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, the Baji Prabhu Wadak Group from Goregaon (Mumbai) had gone to Pimpri-Chinchwad after getting an order to perform. After the program, the group was returning to finishing the program in Pune in a private bus at around 1.00 am.
Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge informed that relief work is going on at the spot and the injured are being sent to the hospital. The hikers’ group, the IRB team is there to help the accident victims. Doctors from private hospitals have been called for help. The bus involved in the accident belonged to Sukhkarta Travels in Goregaon.
