39,000 Teachers From Pune district To Undergo Free Corona Test

Pune, November 20, 2020: As the Maharashtra State Government has given the directives to re-open the schools from Monday (November 23), as many as 39,000 teachers from Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and district will undergo the RT-PCR test. This test will be carried out free of cost for the teachers.

The district administration is prepared to carry out the test and this test will be carried out at the designated COVID centres. Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune rural have eight thousand schools from class 1 to 12th and among them, 3500 are Zilla Parishad schools. In these eight thousand schools, some 70,663 teachers are working from class 1 o 12.

“In Pune city and district as many as 39,000 teachers are working among them 22,522 are in the rural areas. All these teachers will be given a free Corona test”, said Pune Zila Parishad CEO Ayush Prasad.
