3rd Edition of Katakkar Trophy All-India Inter-Club Water Polo Tournament
Pune, 16th February 2026: To promote the Olympic sport of water polo, Deccan Gymkhana is organizing the 3rd edition of Katakkar Trophy All-India Inter-Club Water Polo Tournament. The tournament will feature 10 teams and will be held at the Deccan Gymkhana Tilak Tank from February 18th to 22nd, 2026.
Tournament Director, Shaurya Karandikar, shared more details about the event. He stated, “This tournament is being organized in collaboration with the Swimming Federation of India, and we are grateful to Mr. Hemant Katakkar of Kat Control for sponsoring the event. This is the Third year of this tournament, and matches will commence daily at 9 AM.”
The participating teams include Deccan Gymkhana, Amravati District Association, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Central Railway, Western Railway, Southern Railway, Reliance Raigad, Trivandrum Club Kerala and Bangalore.
More than 20 Indian International players from the states of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur and Gujrath. Ashwinikumar Kunde, Uday Uttekar, Shreyas Vaidya, Bhagesh Kuthe, Tapas Mondol, Anish Kumar, Abhinav S, Adarsh VS will be seen in action during this event, he added.
The tournament will offer exciting matches and attractive cash prizes for the winning teams, including the prestigious Katakkar Trophy. The tournament will offer a total prize money of Rs.1,00,000/-.
