5 Accidents On Pune-Bengaluru Highway, 3 Killed And 15 Injured Today

Pune, January 11, 2021: Within 500 metre, four accidents occurred on the Pune-Bangalore expressway, leaving two dead and seven injured. A six-month-old infant was also among the injured persons. All of the accidents took place at the steep descent from Dari bridge to Narhe after the Katraj tunnel towards Pune.

The first accident happened at 4.30 am– a container transporting alcohol collided with the truck. The second accident took place in the same place at 5.30 am– the truck carrying the liquor was hit by a container. The truck carrying alcohol fell on the service road. Both the drivers have died in the incident. The deceased have been identified as Raju Mujulde and Ajay Mujulde. They were originally from Madhya Pradesh.

The third accident took place at Bhumkar Chowk around 8.30 am. A truck carrying vegetables had overturned on the service road. The fourth accident happened again at the same place around 5 pm. A container hit a rickshaw, a private car and a Pune Rural Police vehicle, respectively. The passengers (mother and six-month-old baby) and the rickshaw driver were seriously injured. The assistant magistrate in the police vehicle was hit in the head. The container driver fled after the accident.

Apart from the above four accidents, a horrific accident took place near Wakad bridge. A truck and a bus collided, killing one person. Nine people were injured and two are in critical condition.
