Pune, 20th November 2022: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the three-km-long four-deck flyover in Ahmednagar, built by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), yesterday.

Gadkari said that due to the ‘Green Field Expressway’ constructed from Mumbai to Delhi, Ahmednagar will be on the map of the country in the future. The length of the new ‘Green Field Expressway’ going to Chennai from Surat-Nashik-Nagar-Solapur is 141 km in the Ahmednagar district.

The project is worth Rs 80,000 crores. Hence, it is possible to set up logistics parks wherever possible in the district. That will boost the development of the district.

“We are building this highway with Axis Control. At present, its length is 1600 km. Mumbai-Pune, along with Thane, Kolhapur, and Solapur, will also have reduced traffic, distance, and pollution,” Gadkari expressed this belief.

New Pune – Aurangabad highway work will be done in the coming period. A 56-km highway will be made available between Ramwadi-Wagholi and Shirur to avoid heavy traffic congestion on the existing Pune-Ahmednagar route between Wagholi, Shikrapur, Ranjangaon MIDC and Shirur. It will solve the problem of traffic jams.
