Camp, 12th November 2024: Assistant Election Returning Officer Siddharth Bhandare of the Pune Cantonment Constituency reported that 62 complaints have been filed since 15th October during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. These complaints were addressed by the district-level ‘C-Vigil’ cell, responsible for registering and handling violations of the model code of conduct.

The Election Commission of India’s ‘C-Vigil’ app, used to register and track complaints of such violations, has received significant engagement from citizens. The app allows citizens to report code of conduct violations by uploading information, photographs, and videos, while also offering the option to file complaints anonymously. According to Bhandare, all complaints were acted upon within 100 minutes, ensuring swift response times and prompt action.
