6464 New COVID Cases Reported In Pune District, Active Cases Cross 24000 Mark Today

Pune, 9th January 2022: A total of 6464 new Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients were reported in the Pune district today while 834 people were discharged from hospitals. 02 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

Today, A total of 19,201 COVID vaccine doses were administered in the Pune district today taking the total vaccination doses to date to 1,56,76,658. About 90,45,344 people have got the first dose while 66,31,314 people have got two doses.

According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, there are 24,485 active patients in the district and 1310 of them are admitted to hospitals while 23,175 are in home isolation. Out of 6464 new cases, 4029 were reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 1535 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 161 in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), 148 in cantonments, and 591 in rural areas.

one death was reported in PMC, and one was in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad) areas. Out of 834 discharged patients, 688 were in PMC, 52 were in PCMC, 09 were in municipal councils, 16 were in cantonments, and 69 were in rural areas.
