Hacker Threatens To Steal Bajaj Finserv

Viman Nagar, 9th January 2022: Bajaj Finserv has registered an FIR with Pune city police after a threatening email was received by the company’s top officials including Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Bajaj, demanding Rs 11.63 crore in Dogecoin cryptocurrency for not hacking their data.

Based on the complaint from Yuvraj More (32), a manager with Bajaj Finserv, Vimantal police station has registered the case against the email sender with the name of Natasha Petrova.

According to police, on November 28, 2021, senior company officials Sanjiv Bajaj, Deepak Reddy, Deepak Bajari and Rajeev Jain had received an email demanding Rs 11.63 crore through a Doge cryptocoin challan, else threatened to hack all the data of the company.

Police Inspector Mangesh Jagtap is conducting further investigation in the case.

Bajaj Finance in a statement said, “The Police Complaint was filed by the Company on receipt of a phishing email to some of our Company’s senior officers carrying a demand. As a precautionary measure and being a law-abiding citizen, we filed a complaint with the law enforcement agency. We shall work with the concerned authorities for taking further action on the said matter.
We also wish to confirm that there is no impact on the organisation’s systems and security as a result of this phishing email. The systems are safe and secure.”
