89,000 Punekars Stop Using Printed Paper For Electricity Bills

Pune, 24th November 2022: 88,925 eco-friendly customers in Pune have responded to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) ‘Go-Green’ scheme by completely stopping the use of printed paper for electricity bills and opting for ‘e-mail’ and ‘SMS’ only. In the last six months, 14,140 customers have participated in the ‘Go-Green’ scheme.

 

According to MSEDCL’s ‘Go-Green’ scheme, electricity consumers are being given a discount of Rs 10 on every electricity bill. Therefore, the consumers participating in the scheme are saving Rs 120 per year in electricity bills.

 

As soon as the electricity bill is generated through MSEDCL’s computerised system, it is sent to the consumers of the ‘Go-Green’ scheme through ‘e-mail’. Electricity bill information is being given through ‘SMS’. Along with this, customers can avail of the facility of instant payment of this electricity bill online by taking advantage of prompt payment.

Electricity consumers participating in the ‘Go-Green’ scheme can save the monthly electricity bill received via email in a soft copy on their computer in case they need printed electricity bills. Along with this, electricity bills for the last 11 months, along with current electricity bills, are available in original form on the official website of MSEDCL www.mahadiscom.in. Consumers can download it anytime or print it in its original colour as per requirement.

 

Under Pune district, 47,574 customers in Pune city, 26,117 in Pimpri Chinchwad city, and 15,234 customers in Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed, Maval, Mulshi, Velhe taluka, and Haveli taluka prefer ‘e-mail’ and ‘SMS’ instead of printed paper for electricity bill and participated in the environmental protection scheme. MSEDCL’s ‘Go-Green’ scheme is the need of the hour, and MSEDCL has appealed to as many electricity consumers as possible to participate in this scheme for paperless electricity bills.

 

To opt for MSEDCL’s ‘Go-Green’ scheme, customers should register the 15-digit GGN number printed on the electricity bill through Mahavitaran’s mobile app or by visiting the link on MSEDCL’s website https://billing.mahadiscom.in/gogreen.php.
