New Delhi, 2nd November 2022: Today (November 2), Twitter’s new owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that Twitter users will now have to pay $8 to get a blue tick. After his announcement, he is getting a lot of criticism. However, he made another tweet refusing to change his decision.

He tweeted, “To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8.”

Earlier in another announcement, Elon Musk said that Twitter will now issue secondary tags for select categories of people. They will include celebrities and politicians, among others. Currently, it appears on the Twitter handle of US President Joe Biden.

Twitter uses blue tick marks to verify the accounts of celebrities, so that the general public can know about the legitimacy of the accounts. Musk said on Sunday (October 30) that the entire verification process is currently being revamped.
