Pune School Students Set World Record in Yoga, Performing 30 Poses in 150 Minutes
Shivajinagar, 19th January 2025: In a moment of pride for the city, 1,200 students of the Deccan Education Society’s Primary School set a remarkable world record in yoga on January 18. Students from classes 1 to 4 showcased their exceptional talent by performing 30 yoga poses, spanning ancient to modern styles, in just 150 minutes. Their achievement earned them a place in the India World Book, leaving the audience mesmerized by their skills.
The event, held on Saturday evening, began with the ceremonial lighting of lamps accompanied by the resonant sound of conch shells. Parents contributed to the lively atmosphere with rhythmic drumming, adding energy to the students’ performances. Thousands of attendees cheered as the young participants, dressed in traditional and modern attire, performed yoga asanas to the tunes of devotional, emotional, and popular film songs.

A Dazzling Display of Yoga Diversity
The students demonstrated an impressive range of yoga styles, including:
- Kal Yoga
- Surya Namaskar and Chandra Namaskar
- Tribal Yoga and Animal Yoga
- Partner Yoga and Revolutionary Poses
- Rhythmic Yoga and Patriotic Mandala Yoga
- Chair Yoga, Bricks Yoga, and Medicine Ball Yoga
- Aqua Yoga and Skating Yoga
Underwater yoga and skating yoga were also part of this extraordinary record-breaking attempt, with a video of these performances played during the event.
