Noida, 18th February 2025: A two-year-old boy tragically lost his life in Noida’s Aghapur area on Sunday night after a bullet struck him during a wedding procession. The celebratory firing took place as part of the wedding celebrations, when people on the street fired guns into the air. The incident occurred while the boy, Ansh, was on his father’s lap, watching the procession from a third-floor balcony.

The bullet, fired from the street below, struck Ansh in the head, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the young boy was declared dead within minutes. His father, Vikash Sharma, described the heart-wrenching moment. “We were watching the procession from the balcony around 8:30 p.m. when I noticed two men on the groom’s carriage, each holding pistols. One man in white suddenly fired his gun. I only realized my son had been shot when I saw blood dripping onto my hand,” Vikash recalled, visibly shaken.

The groom’s father and maternal uncle have been detained by the police, but those who fired the guns remain at large. Police teams are now on the lookout for two men, identified as Happy and Dipanshu from Gurgaon, who were allegedly firing in the air from the horse-drawn carriage where the groom was standing.

Ansh’s father further shared that his son had always been excited by wedding processions, especially the lights, firecrackers, and music. “Ansh loved weddings. It was his favorite thing to see, and we had often taken him to watch such processions. I never imagined that this time, it would end in tragedy,” said Vikash, holding back tears.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, as celebratory firing remains a frequent yet dangerous practice at weddings in certain parts of India.
