Pune: Husband Arrested for Abetting Wife’s Suicide in Pimple Saudagar
Pimple Saudagar, 5th March 2025: A 35-year-old man, Himanshu Dinesh Jain, has been arrested for allegedly abetting his wife’s suicide and attempting to cover it up with a fake suicide note. The incident occurred on 25th February in Rosewood Residency, an upscale residential society in Pimple Saudagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad. The case came to light after the victim’s father filed a complaint at Sangvi Police Station.
According to police reports, Himanshu had been involved in an extramarital affair, which led to frequent conflicts with his 32-year-old wife. Matters worsened before the death of their daughter. Himanshu allegedly began subjecting his wife to physical and mental abuse, engaging in constant arguments and pushing her toward suicide.
Unable to endure the harassment, the woman took her own life by hanging herself with a scarf in their residence at Rosewood Residency. In an attempt to mislead authorities, Himanshu reportedly wrote a fake suicide note to deflect suspicion. However, his deception was uncovered during the investigation.
The victim’s father filed a complaint at Sangvi Police Station, leading to Himanshu’s arrest. He has been charged with abetment to suicide and attempting to fabricate evidence. Police Sub-Inspector Kanase is investigating the matter further.
