Joint Effort to Tackle Encroachments
The latest phase of the operation, which began on March 17, has targeted unauthorized structures along key roads and highways. So far, 750 encroachments, including shops, makeshift sheds, roadside stalls, and illegal constructions, have been cleared from major areas such as:
Pune-Satara Road (Navle Bridge to Sarole)
Hadapsar (Shewalwadi) to Dive Ghat
Navlakha Umbre to Chakan
Hinjawadi-Maan area
Many residents, anticipating the crackdown, have voluntarily removed their illegal structures. The administration has urged others to follow suit before further action is taken.
Next Phase: More Areas Targeted
Starting March 28, the anti-encroachment drive will extend to:
Shikrapur to Shirur on Pune-Nagar Road
Bavdhan to NDA Road (Bakaji Corner to the Crematorium)
Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase has appealed to encroachers to vacate voluntarily and obtain the necessary permissions for any future construction.
