Pune: Kasarsai Dam Increases Water Discharge as Rainfall Continues; Citizens Urged to Stay Alert

Pimpri Chinchwad, 2nd July 2025: Authorities have increased the water discharge from the spillway of the Kasarsai Dam into the Kasarsai stream from 1,360 cusecs to 2,040 cusecs on Tuesday afternoon. The Executive Engineer of the Pune Irrigation Division, D.M. Dubal, informed that if rainfall continues or intensifies, the water release may be adjusted further depending on inflow levels.

People have been strongly advised not to enter the riverbed area and to immediately move any animals or belongings from the river channel to a safer location. Residents living in low-lying areas have also been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate with these safety measures in view of the increased discharge.
