Pune, 9th July 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML)’s Pune Darshan and Tourism Bus Services have received an overwhelming response from citizens, leading to a record revenue of ₹6.48 lakh in June 2025.

Operated through air-conditioned electric buses, the services are available every Saturday, Sunday, on public holidays, and other select days. The initiative has become especially popular among working professionals from offices, colleges, schools, industrial sectors, and IT companies who seek short weekend getaways. These services also attract pilgrims and leisure tourists, offering a comfortable and affordable travel experience. PMPML also operates buses on weekdays if a group of 15 to 20 passengers makes a prior booking.

In terms of monthly performance in 2025, the revenue growth has shown a steady upward trend. In January 2025, the total income from both Pune Darshan and Tourism Buses was ₹3.47 lakh, which dipped slightly in February to ₹2.17 lakh and rose again in March to ₹2.36 lakh. April saw a moderate total of ₹1.56 lakh. However, May recorded a significant jump with ₹4.75 lakh in combined earnings, which was further surpassed in June when PMPML earned ₹6.48 lakh — the highest in the year so far. This includes ₹1.35 lakh from the Pune Darshan service and ₹5.12 lakh from the various tourism routes.

PMPML currently runs 10 curated tourism routes that connect Pune to major religious and historical destinations. These include popular sites such as Jejuri, Morgaon Ganpati, Purandar Fort foothills, Narayanpur, Balaji Temple at Ketkawale, Sinhgad Fort base, Panshet Dam, Tulapur, Bhima Koregaon Victory Pillar, and the Sai Baba Ashram at Hadshi, among others. Each route is designed to offer passengers a convenient, scenic, and spiritually enriching journey.

PMPML has appealed to women, nature enthusiasts, pilgrims, and general tourists to take advantage of these services, especially during the holy months of Ashadh and Shravan, which are ideal for religious travel. The initiative is overseen by the Chief Transport Manager (Operations) and is part of PMPML’s commitment to promoting sustainable and accessible tourism through electric mobility.
