Mumbai, 12th July 2025: In a significant update for Maharashtra farmers, the Agriculture Department has announced that from the 2025-26 season onwards, a Farmer ID generated through Agri Stack is now mandatory for availing benefits under various agricultural welfare schemes via the MahaDBT portal. This new requirement aims to streamline beneficiary selection and speed up the approval process for government schemes.

According to Joint Director of Agriculture Rafiq Nayakwadi, beneficiary selection for all schemes is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis through the MahaDBT portal, with farmers registering using their unique Farmer ID. Once selected, farmers must upload scheme-specific documents, which are then verified by Assistant Agriculture Officers and Taluka Agriculture Officers. However, it was observed that many applications were being sent back at the regional level due to non-submission of 7/12, 8A, and Aadhaar documents.

Clarifying the process, officials have stated that when farmers apply using their Farmer ID, all key details, including name, district, taluka, village, survey number, group number, and total land area, are automatically available on the portal. Therefore, uploading 7/12, 8A, and Aadhaar documents is no longer required. Agriculture Commissioner Suraj Mandhare emphasized that returning applications for missing documents is unnecessary, and regional officers have been instructed accordingly. This change is expected to accelerate the approval process for farmers seeking scheme benefits.

The Agriculture Department has urged all subordinate officers to immediately take note of this update and ensure that applications are not sent back for lack of these documents, making the process more efficient for Maharashtra’s farming community.
